Unlike rotating in a viewer, which only changes how the file is displayed on your screen, this writes the rotation into the PDF itself — it opens right-side up for everyone you send it to. The edit is made by pdf-lib in your browser, so the document is never uploaded.

Is my PDF uploaded when I rotate it?
No. Thumbnails are rendered and the rotation is applied entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device.
Will the rotation stay when I send the file to someone?
Yes. The rotation is saved into the PDF’s page settings, so it opens correctly in every reader — unlike the temporary rotate view in most PDF viewers.
Can I rotate just one page instead of the whole PDF?
Yes. Every page has its own rotate button under its thumbnail — click once for 90°, twice for 180°, three times for 270°. Other pages are left alone.
Does rotating reduce the quality of my PDF?
No. Rotation only updates each page’s orientation flag. Nothing is re-rendered or recompressed, so text stays selectable and images stay identical.
The pages were already rotated in the file — will this handle that?
Yes. Your rotation is added to each page’s existing angle, so a page stored at 90° that you turn another 90° correctly ends up at 180°.
