Unit Converter

Length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, data, and time — converted live, both ways.

100% freeRuns in your browserNo signup, no watermark

One converter for eight categories: length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, data, and time. Type in either field and the other updates instantly — the conversion works both ways — with a swap button to flip direction and a reference table of common conversions for the pair you have selected.

Conversions use exact international definitions (an inch is exactly 25.4 mm, a pound exactly 0.45359237 kg), temperature uses the real °C/°F/K formulas rather than a naive factor, and data storage can be shown in decimal units (KB, MB, GB) or binary units (KiB, MiB, GiB) — the distinction that explains why a "1 TB" drive shows up as 931 GiB.

How to convert units

  1. 1

Pick a category — length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, data, or time.

  2. 2

Choose the from and to units, then type a value in either field.

  3. 3

Read the live result, swap direction with one click, or scan the common-conversions table.

Why use Nofolo’s unit converter?

Eight categories

Length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, data storage, and time in one tool.

Two-way live conversion

Edit either side and the other recalculates instantly; one click swaps the direction.

Exact definitions

Built on exact international conversion factors — not rounded approximations.

Real temperature formulas

°C, °F, and K converted with the proper offset formulas, so −40° comes out equal in both scales.

Decimal and binary data units

Toggle between KB/MB/GB (×1000) and KiB/MiB/GiB (×1024) to match how drives vs. operating systems count.

Common-conversions table

A quick reference for the selected pair — handy for recipes, workouts, and travel.

Frequently asked questions

How many centimeters are in an inch?

Exactly 2.54 — the inch has been defined as 25.4 mm since 1959. That makes 1 foot 30.48 cm and 1 meter about 39.37 inches; the converter uses these exact values.

How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?

°F = °C × 9/5 + 32. So 20 °C is 68 °F, and −40° is the one point where both scales agree. Temperature is converted with this formula, not a multiplier, because the scales have different zero points.

What is the difference between KB and KiB?

KB (kilobyte) is decimal: 1,000 bytes — how drive makers count. KiB (kibibyte) is binary: 1,024 bytes — how most operating systems count. The gap compounds: a 1 TB drive is only about 931 GiB, which is why new drives look "smaller" than the box says.

Which gallon does the converter use?

The US gallon (3.785411784 liters exactly), and the volume category uses US cups, pints, quarts, and fluid ounces. A UK imperial gallon is larger at about 4.546 liters — worth knowing for UK recipes.

How accurate are the conversions?

Factor-based conversions use exact legal definitions, and results are shown with sensible precision to avoid floating-point noise. Month and year in the time category use the usual conventions of 30 and 365 days, as labeled.
