How many centimeters are in an inch?
Exactly 2.54 — the inch has been defined as 25.4 mm since 1959. That makes 1 foot 30.48 cm and 1 meter about 39.37 inches; the converter uses these exact values.
How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?
°F = °C × 9/5 + 32. So 20 °C is 68 °F, and −40° is the one point where both scales agree. Temperature is converted with this formula, not a multiplier, because the scales have different zero points.
What is the difference between KB and KiB?
KB (kilobyte) is decimal: 1,000 bytes — how drive makers count. KiB (kibibyte) is binary: 1,024 bytes — how most operating systems count. The gap compounds: a 1 TB drive is only about 931 GiB, which is why new drives look "smaller" than the box says.
Which gallon does the converter use?
The US gallon (3.785411784 liters exactly), and the volume category uses US cups, pints, quarts, and fluid ounces. A UK imperial gallon is larger at about 4.546 liters — worth knowing for UK recipes.
