Video Transcription

Turn MP4, WebM, and MOV videos into text or subtitles — processed privately on your device.

100% freeRuns in your browserNo signup, no watermark

Drop in a video and the tool extracts the audio track and transcribes it with Whisper-class AI — all inside your browser, so the footage never leaves your device. That privacy matters for the videos people most need transcribed: client work, course content, internal meetings, and unpublished YouTube uploads.

Export subtitle-ready SRT or VTT files with accurate timestamps for YouTube, Premiere, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve — or plain text for show notes, blog posts, and translations. Creators use it to caption videos before upload; students and researchers use it to turn lecture recordings into searchable notes.

How to transcribe a video

  1. 1

Drop your video file onto the tool — the audio track is extracted automatically in your browser.

  2. 2

Pick a quality level and click Transcribe; segments appear live as the AI works through the audio.

  3. 3

Download subtitles as SRT/VTT for your editor or YouTube, or copy the transcript as plain text.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The audio track is extracted with your browser’s built-in decoder and transcribed locally by the AI model. Nothing is transmitted — safe for confidential and unreleased footage.

How do I add the subtitles to my video?

Download the SRT file and import it: YouTube Studio → Subtitles → Upload file; Premiere → Import captions; CapCut → Captions → Import. VTT works for web video players. Timestamps are already aligned.

What video formats work?

MP4 (H.264/AAC), WebM, and MOV work in every modern browser. If your file uses an unusual codec the browser cannot decode, convert it to MP4 first and it will work.

How long can the video be?

There is no imposed limit — the audio is processed in 30-second chunks, so even hour-long recordings work. Longer videos simply take proportionally longer, and the progress bar keeps you informed.

Can it transcribe videos in other languages?

Yes — the model supports 90+ languages with automatic detection, or you can set the language explicitly for the best accuracy.
